  • Revenue Stream.                                                                                                                 Once your plants and trees have reached maturity they can produce thousands of pounds of fruit per year, or estimated market value of over $100,000 annually. This can be achieved by selling fruit at the farmer’s market, or having a “You Pick” days, or at local restaurants. This can produce a revenue for the Community, local restaurants and business or benefit a local charity.

  • Tourism                                                                                                                                  Would benefit, as tourist would come to town for a “You Pick” days, also would be drawn to town over the summer for berry picking. Revenue from increased tourism could benefit a variety of local businesses.

  • Food Bank and Other Charities                                                                                       There are organizations out there right now like Operation Fruit Rescue, which is an organization that comes and picks fruit from the trees. They then intern donate that fruit back to the local food banks, and other charities. This is also a great opportunity to give back to your community.

  • Health Wise                                                                                                                 Many Berries are considered to be a super food. They are high in vitamins and antioxidants. They also have a variety of medicinal properties, such as cancer and stroke prevention. Increased cognitive functions, and decreases risk of heart attack.
How can this benefit the environment?

  • Supports and feeds local wildlife                                                                                      who live in the area, and these specific habitats. There is a large number of aquatic life, birds, and small mammals that live in these habitats that would benefit from this project.

  • Seed propagation                                                                                                                 by birds and other animals will help spread the berry orchards in their natural habitat. Further creating sustainable, renewable food sources that benefits humans and wild life alike.

  • Supports wild bee and other pollinators at risk.                                                          Berry bushes and trees produce an abundant amount of flowers every year, aiding in the recovery of various bee species and other pollinators. Play a key role, in the recovery and strengthening of wild bee populations. Honey made from berry plants is also regarded by many to be the best in the world.
