These injured and orphaned baby deer. Have been bottled fed by humans, up until a couple of days ago. It was necessary for their survival. That is why they seem so receptive to humans. Using donated locally grown apples in part. They are now being weened from the bottle, and being taught to forage for food. Once they become more independent. They will be moved to a new pen, with 5 other baby deer, and an endangered swift fox. Were they will no longer have human contact until they are released. Over the winter the donated apples will continue to make a healthy natural food source.
